I want to use Xdarwin not local but with a foreign xdm-Server. For the
moment I made a .xinitrc only with a xterm. For this local xterm I put a
/etc/X0.host with "local" and "localhost" entries and made a startup script
with the following entries:
/Applications/XDarwin.app/Contents/MacOS/XDarwin -query foreign-host
I use "Terminal" for executing this script.
This method works but is not the preferred way due to the executed xinit.
Is there an other possibility for doing such querys (or broadcast) looking
for willing xdm hosts? It would be good to have a shortcut to launch such an
application from aqua like the local Xdarwin is provided.

This is, what I am doing every day on my Mac.

This is the way, how I start my X-Server:
/Applications/XDarwin.app/Contents/MacOS/XDarwin -query ds9 -once
- -nostartx -fullscreen
ds9 is the name of the host, running xdm. It does not require any
special adjustments to /etc/X0.hosts or the .xinitrc.
