Namespace problems (which you have, I believe) can be resolved usually
by using the local-name() function in XPath. From the web page:
Identifying elements with namespaces. This example copies the |node|
element which is tied to a namespace via an |xmlns| directive. See this
XML.com article <http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2004/02/25/qanda.html> for
<copy path="//*[local-name()='node']" property="count"/>

and although appears to be addressing GML concerns, in fact addresses
generic namespace issues. Please let me know if that resolves your problem.
