Does "xml --net ... url ..." command support
authorization?

If user/pass is required to access the server, how can it
be provided?

    I don't see that XMLStarlet provides command line switches to provide a username and password. If you need to use XMLStarlet to access a server across a network and you need to provide a username/password, then use XMLStarlet in combination with "expect" to do this in a script.
