Currently, _date is supported as a type, but it is not possible to define a specific subtype with more specific constraints. This is possible with other types, such as _int32:

<type name="quantity">
<int32 min="0" />
</type>

It would be nice if this approach could also be applied to date types, so that you can specify:

<type name="deliveryDate">
<date min="20120101" />
</type>

The constraints could be:

min - earliest allowed date (inclusive)
max - latest allowed date (inclusive)
