Hello, I'm trying to build a media-box with a dxr3-card (em8300) without X11. I installed xine but when I want to fire it up, it always complains that it cannot open a display. Has anyone a clue why? server:/usr/local/src# xine -pfhq --no-logo --no-mouse --no-splash -B -I -V dxr3 /home/jan/movies/Bleeder.avi This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.5cvs. (c) 2000-2006 The xine Team. Cannot open display server:/usr/local/src# -V, --video-driver <drv> Select video driver by id. Available drivers: aadxr3 dxr3 xv opengl caca aa xshm none xxmc sdl vidixfb vidix fb xvmc regards, Jan Willies |

If anyone know why xine > doesn't want to play without X, please answer. Perhaps that's is due to some part in xine-lib still using X. I'm not very sure about this though. I've always used the dxr3 on a box where also X11 was installed and running. I'm sure someone on the list with more knowledge on xine-lib will be able to answer this. I also believe that you can use toxine (http://toxine.sourceforge.net/) although I'm not sure whether it still works well with recent xine-lib. regards, Marcel |
