Hello. I'm using Freespire 1.0 and I've installed
Linspire DVD Player which is Xine with licensed codecs
to play commericial DVDs.
Recently, while using my system, I was running XMMS
MP3 player. I started Xine (Linspire DVD player) and
the MP3 player stopped. So naturally, I stopped Xine
and the MP3 player began playing again.
I closed XMMS.
When I re-launched Xine, it came up in two windows.
The main window is black. The second window is
smaller and black with sometimes a reddish purple
background when moved.
Launching a DVD results in the disc playing, but it
plays in the smaller window and all the links to DVD
menus are active in the main window, though they are
not seen..sorta like pointing in the dark.
This behavior has also affected Kaffeine. Kaffeine
also plays in two windows. One window controls, the
other displays the video.
Is this a bug?
I'm running Freespire 1.0. I have an AMD 64 bit
processor, 1 gig of DDR RAM, and running an Nvidia
G-Force FX 5500 256 meg graphics card.
Prior to this, Xine ran flawlessly.
BTW, I have tried to uninstall and re-install (via
Linspire CNR system) to no avail. the problem remains.
I've also dleted the .xine folder in the user
directory and that does nothing, either.
