I had a few newbie questions that I'm sure I should know the answers to,
but I thought I'd get everything straight asking here. First question,
does the standard newest version of Xine work properly in GNOME2? So
far, whenever I full-screen the navigation window gets stuck behind the
display and I have to use keyboard shortcuts to exit. (not really a
hassle, but it just seems like an incompatibility to me) The other
problem I've run into is playing some of my video files and not having
the necessary video/audio codecs. These usually are DivX based files.
I tried adding 'codecs.win32_path:/mnt/nt/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32' and tried
changing that to 'condecs.win32_path:/usr/lib/win32' (the default) in
~/.xine/config to no avail. I then moved on and tried reading the Divx
faq's and readme's on xine.sf.net, but ran into a problem that I really
feel is too dumb to even ask, but here goes. what is '.xinerc' and
where is it? i cannot for the life of me find this file, and if it is
~/.xine/config in newer versions, where/how/can I add the lines needed
to adjust priority and the like to allow me to play .WMV's and the like?
btw, the most common error so far is "No audio plugin avaliable to
decode 'DivX audio (WMA)'
Thanks in advance for any help
