hi all, new to Xine and this list and i have 2 questions ... (i browsed the archives first, but could not find any straight answers) - from another thread i understand that after installing the D4D plugin (from Captain CSS) you should get a button in the Xine GUI, but i never got one ? AFAICS the config, make & make install went fine and the plugin file is in the right dir. with the other plugins (i installed everything in /usr/local/xine). what did i miss ?? (btw : libdvdnav and xine-dvdnav did give me a nice shiny new NAV button ...) - i'm now runnning Xine 0.9.9 but would to upgrade to 0.9.12 (and also the new xine-dvdnav) ; can i just config, make & make install everything into the same directory again or do i have to un-install/remove stuff first ?? tia, Rob |

You have to update (take a look at the start messages) -- Machs gut | http://www.iiv.de/schwinde/buerger/tremmel/ Manfred | http://www.knightsoft-net.de |

It's better to deinstall older versions, maybe you have to delete the old preferneces: ~/.xine Take a look at /usr/lib/xine or /usr/local/lib/xine, they should be empty or not existing. When you compile xine yourselve, it can be a problem when old includes from /usr/include/xine or /usr/local/include/xine, be shure they are empty to or do not exist. -- Machs gut | http://www.iiv.de/schwinde/buerger/tremmel/ Manfred | http://www.knightsoft-net.de |
