I'd like to cleanup a bit the build system at least for 1.2 branch to
use more M4sh rather than raw sh, it simply makes it easier to read, as
you fall less into sh and have more autoconf-like code around.
Luca (lu_zero, FFmpeg and lscube) is also working on an extended set of
M4 macros I'd like to borrow to reduce pkg-config checks code.
I'm currently working on polishing attributes.m4 to avoid the ifelse
macros thanks to M4sh.
One thing I'm pondering though is about the various options at configure
to find libraries and includes for various projects: flac, zlib, iconv,
Do they make sense? I think it's easier to just pass -I and -L options
Anybody know of a good reason to keep them?
