Any idea why is not possible to play multimedia streams through http proxy using domain name urls ? When (any) xine-based player tries to open such MRL, it fails with xinelib error message "unable to resolve hostname (xyz.net) by gethostbyname". When the same MRL is specified directly by IP address it opens the stream through proxy without problems. Why xine doesn't let the http proxy server to resolve domain names when set? A bug / feature ? Or did I miss something ? Thanks. David |

Forget it. I just figured out it was fixed in 1.1.7.
