I am using xine-lib 1.2 (hg repository) with external ffmpeg (latest
svn) in a computer running vdr. xine-lib is used to decode satellite
TS streams with MPEG-2 or H.264.
It seems that decoding certain H.264 streams (as previously reported
in xine-user here:
) does not scale in all cpu cores (even when
video.processing.ffmpeg_thread_count:2 ) . It seems this is a "bug" in
xine-lib in relation to external ffmpeg, since mplayer using ffmpeg
does not excibit this behaviour (it scales well in both cores with the
same TS files). The result of decoding not scaling in all cpu cores is
that even with a core2duo 3GHz you get jerky playback of such H.264
This was reported in xine-users almost a year ago but the "bug" is
still there (maybe noone from the developers noticed?). The TS files
excibiting the problem mentioned in the post in xine-user are no
longer available, but if a developer want to test this I can upload a
TS file myself.
