Category: gxine Group: v0.5.6 Status: Open >Resolution: Works For Me >Priority: 4 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Darren Salt (dsalt) Summary: unspecified segmentation fault Initial Comment: I compiled the last version of gxine on my ubuntu 5.10. I use libxine 1.1.1. The compilation was made with no problem : ./configure --disable-lirc make sudo make install When I start gxine, the GUI is show up but one second after, the interface disappear and on the console I have : segmentation fault. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Darren Salt (dsalt) Date: 2006-05-01 23:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=294680 FULL BACKTRACE WITH DEBUG INFO if you want anything to be done about your problem. As it stands, your bug report says "something's wrong" and gives far too little information to allow me to even try to determine what that "something" is. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-05-01 22:04 Message: Logged In: NO For information : xine-ui work fine. the CPU is a athlon XP. The problem became when the lirc parameter is added to gxine. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Darren Salt (dsalt) Date: 2006-05-01 20:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=294680 Insufficient information, but it looks like it might be a xine-lib bug. Full backtrace, with *debug* builds of gxine and xine-lib. Since you're evidently using i386, you should be able to install libxine1 & libxine1-dbg from my repository for Debian etch. You could also grab the .diff.gz and .dsc for gxine, convert & rename the source tarball appropriately, and build a .deb using $ dpkg-source -x gxine_0.5.6-0.1.dsc $ DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="nostrip debug" debuild binary http://www.youmustbejoking.demon.co.uk/progs.linux.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-05-01 20:08 Message: Logged In: NO stephane@athlon1700:/shared/var/download/xine/gxine-0.5.6$ gdb /usr/local/bin/gxine GNU gdb 6.3-debian Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. If that fails, again, backtrace needed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Darren Salt (dsalt) Date: 2006-05-01 18:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=294680 Please rebuild xine with debug information, this will help us identifying where and why it crashed. To rebuild xine-lib and xine-ui with debug information, unpack the tarball and execute the following commands: $ ./configure $ make clean $ make debug $ make install-debug Then run xine from gdb: $ gdb xine (gdb) handle SIG32 noprint nostop (gdb) run Try to reproduce the crash. Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [....] type: (gdb) thread apply all bt This will print the stack trace for all threads. Paste it into the bug entry. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1479758&group_id=9655 |
