Hi Joachim, attached to this mail is a xine audio output driver for ALSA 0.9 that I received from James Courtier-Dutton <jcd...@lu...> perhaps you can test it and check it into xine CVS? I've implemented 4/5-channels and ac3/spdif support for the oss driver, I can't test the ac3/spdif stuff though, so I don't know if that works. 4-channel surround is tested and works very nice for me (in fact, I'll go out and buy two more speakers now :-)). Please note that there have been quite some changes to libac3 over the last few days as I synced up with walken's libac3.new and implemented the multichannel downmixers. If ac3/spdif doesn't work also take a look at xine-lib/src/libac3/xine-decoder.c that's where ac3 frames are detected and all the xine-specific stuff is handled now. libac3 itself only does the decoding and is independant from any specific audio_out implementation now.
