I am seeing something similar, although until now I blamed it on the XFree86 drivers. I am using a 1200MHz Duron, and DVD playing takes ~60% CPU power. Could you check (using top from a console) which process actually uses all the CPU power? In my case X takes ~30% CPU (with Xv or without, this does not make much difference, strange enough) |
