    Hi,
I don't see this bug on my Debian box, so it's probably related to your particular configuration.
So, could you give me more details : with what file types does it crash ? What panel mode do you use ?
Does it crash whith several files selected ?
Does it crash in a particular directory or in ant directory ?
    Thanks,
    RB

It crashes with any type of file in any directory. It does not crash when multiple files are selected.

I've tried attaching the crash report generated by whoopsie, but this site isn't let me attach it.

I am getting the same crash. It also crashes when I select "Open With..." in the context menu. For the crash when opening the Properties dialog, the problem (for xfe-1.32.5) is at Properties.cpp:505, with the call to input->setFocus(). When it crashes upon selecting "Open With", the crash is at HistInputDialog.h:33, again with a call to field->setFocus(). I noticed that you have "hacks" in foxhacks.cpp to correct some of this behavior, but in both these cases, your override is not being called.

    System details:
Linux Mint 14, libfox version from the repository is 1.6.45-1ubuntu2

Same here on Ubuntu minimal + fluxbox. Xfe seems very very fine, but I've seen this same bug of Fox reported on and off since 2007. Would compiling from source help?

That (xfe -im nothing) works for me. Thanks

    Hi,

finally I've got the answer to thi issue. Here it is :

The Xfe package provided by Ubuntu is broken because they use the -Bsymbolic-functions option when compiling the FOX library. I've filled a bug report to the Ubuntu team, so hopefully the bug will be fixed soon. In between, you can download and install the libfox and xfe packages I provide on my website. Here are the links :

    http://roland65.free.fr/xfe/index.php?page=fox-deb
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/xfe/files/xfe/1.34/

    Thanks for the bug report,
    RB

Bug Still present on Ubuntu 13.04. Installing the libfox and xfe packages above (once dependency issues sorted) fixes the problem
