I have just downloaded xena4pre.zip onto my Windows XP system.

I verified that I am running Java 5:

    C:\xena>java -version
    java version "1.5.0_09"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_09-b01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_09-b01, mixed mode, sharing)

When I run xena.bat, I get the following:

    C:\xena>java -cp xena.jar au.gov.naa.digipres.xena.litegui.LiteMainFrame
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version n

Can anyone help me resolve this? Is there a specific minor version of Java that I need to be running?

    Thank you.

    Ken

My apologies Ken. One of the changes in the 4.0 release of Xena is the move to Java 1.6 and this is one of the things we'll be making clear in updated documentation.

So if you update your Java to 1.6 (aka 6), the bad version error should disappear.

        Okay...that explains it. Thanks!
