XDrawChem 1.8.3 is now available at:
Changes in the release include:
- Updated Polish language file.
- Pressing Escape now returns to select mode regardless of
- The dependencies on python and frowns (a python module)
were removed, in a manner of speaking. XDrawChem still
uses python and frowns via a cgi-bin script, so you won't
need to install your own.
- The above change means all database features should be
available as long as you have Internet access. Try the
following: draw salicylic acid (without hydrogens, and
draw out the carboxylic acid :) or aniline (again, no
hydrogens), then select Molecule information from the Tools
menu. Pretty neat, huh? It is a knowledge-based search,
so uncommon compounds might not be listed; still, there are
over 100,000 compounds in the database.
