Somewhere along the line of system software upgrades--unfortunately I can't say where since I use XDrawChem only infrequently--XDrawChem 1.9.9 stopped working. I'm running on Mac OS 10.4.7, I've reinstalled XDrawChem, Qt 3.3.5, and OpenBabel 2.0.1. Still no go.
I can confirm that a new install of XDrawChem 1.9.9 (with QtMac336-Mini-Intel) is also not working on my MacBook Pro on OS 10.4.7. When I click on the app, the icon bounces once, and then nothing happens.
Have you heard anything about this issue, whether there's a patch or workaround for it?

OK. Not sure about Macintel machines, but it seems that there are several versions of XDrawChem 1.9.9, the difference being that one of them has a library file that is required whereas the other does not. For more information, navigate to VersionTracker (http://www.versiontracker.com), search for XDrawChem and read the posts. I believe VersionTracker leads you to the working XDrawChem.
Hope this helps. Let me know.
Ah - did some googling, and came up with this - http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20542
... which does reference the missing library. However, it looks like perhaps xdrawchem hasn't yet been updated for the MacIntel machines. :-/
I have the version 1.99 pkg downloaded from http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/math_science/xdrawchem.html (also referenced at http://xdrawchem.sourceforge.net/#MacOSX\), running with the QtMac336-Mini-Intel pkg from http://naranja.umh.es/~atg/.
This is what I get when I try to launch from the command line:
/Applications/xdrawchem199/xdrawchem.app/Contents/MacOS root# ./xdrawchem
dyld: Library not loaded: libqt-mt.3.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/xdrawchem199/xdrawchem.app/Contents/MacOS/xdrawchem
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
/usr/local/lib/libqt-mt.3.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help...
