#572 X-Chat 2.0.8 on Windows 2000 does not properly render font

I'm trying to use the Fixedsys Excelsior truetype font
available at http://www.fixedsys.org.

When I try to use this font in X-Chat 2.0.8, it doesn't
render properly. The characters are distorted at any
point size. (The closest thing to the real Fixedsys
bitmap font at 9pt is Fixedsys Excelsior at 11pt.)

On my Fedora Core 1 installation with X-Chat 2.0.6a
pre-bundled, the font renders perfectly. It looks and
feels the same as all other applications in Windows
render the font (except X-Chat).

Now, I realize that "there are no Windows developers
working xchat, so Windows bugs go unread," however,
this is the only thing I that is getting in the way of
me making X-Chat my main IRC client (and might help
others to use it also), so any help you can provide is
appreciated.

Font rendering is handled by PANGO (www.pango.org). I have
no control over this. You might want to try Lucida Console
    9/10, it looks similar.

Well, everything seems to be fine now. Manually typing size
10.5 seems to draw it correctly. Oddly enough, a friend
using Windows XP did not experience the problem using size 11.
