If you either in a new certificate or in a template click Edit next to the CRL distribution point entry on the Extensions tab, then type in a valid URI for the CRL distribution point, and BEFORE clicking outside the field in which you type the URI value you then click the 'Validate' button then you get the following error.

"Validation failed:
'URI:http://crl.example.com/cert.crl,URI:'
error:2206D06D:X509 V3
routines:X509V3_parse_list:invalid null
value
error:22097069:X509 V3
routines:DO_EXT_NCONF:invalid extension
string

If you click OK to the above error and Validate again it will succeed. It will also succeed if you click outside the text entry box BEFORE clicking on the Validate button.

Discussion

  • Hi John,

I was not able to reproduce the issue. I tried with 0.9.1 and 0.9.3 on linux and windows. Click "Validate" without leaving the text-input field.
What Version of XCA and what operating system did you use ?
Please send the Version information from the "Help->About" dialog.

  • Yes, indeed. I could reproduce on a Mac. It only happens on Mac..
    Will be fixed soon.
