I thought I had copied the /etc/apt/ folder's contents before I started playing around with adding testing sources to the configuration, but somehow I must have typed something wrong and didn't notice the error message or such. In short, now I have a hosed /etc/apt folder, and no backup. Since I don't have a PC or Linux computer (only Macs) how do I get the files in that folder? I just wanted to see what/how many conflicts I'd get if I allow the system to search the testing packages, too. Anyone had any experience? At least here, after messing things up a bit, it looks rather scary, and the stable release has a version of libc and make that's too old for a project I try to build. Feel a bit between a rock and a hard place. Ronald |
