Softmoddding it does not instantly enable all possible hacker functions you could ever dream of. We're starting to deviate from xbox-linux protocol here, so I'm cutting this off. (I will, however, be wholly truthful) You CANNOT run backups with MechInstaller unless you were to hand edit and rebuild the package, inserting some definatly illegal non-xbox-linux, non-ms code. As for the xdvdfs, it's not officially part of xbox-linux, nor the linux kernel. You can try if you want, but you don't need to bother.
