XdTV 2.2.0 under fvwm 2.5.12 starts successfully, video window
appears for a moment and disappears from the screen. This does
not depend on "staysontop" and "decorations" options. Here is
output of xwininfo:

The only way to see main window I found is to set "UnManaged"
style (that is fvwm does not interfere with "XdTV" window at all and
therefore cannot move, iconify it etc. Other xdtv windows (options,
record parameters) are handled properly. Then xwininfo gives smth.

Of course, I tend to blame fvwm team, but XdTV is the ONLY
program I have problems with in fvwm.

    it's a fvwm / fvwm2 problem.
this WM don't manage correctly the Windows decoration (we
are the only soft which use that!!!!) so to use your favorite
WM, launch xdtv with this command:

    xdtv -nodecoinit
