Xaraya Beta .9.0.3 Released

It is my pleasure to announce the release of the .9.0.3 Beta for Xaraya. This release, like the last release, is intended on stabilizing the codebase. Many bugs and unintended features were fixed during the past two weeks, and this release represents a concentrated effort on stability of the core. In addition, performance has been enhanced from .9.0.2 to the .9.0.3 Beta. There are very few new features in this release.

One feature that is in is the syndication of content via the RSS theme. With the RSS theme, you can add &theme=rss or ?theme=rss (depending on the url string) and the RSS theme will produce a backend syndication method. More work is needed for strict validation of the syndication, but work is under way. We are aiming for RSS 2.0 specs, and have come very close with this release. You can syndicate via a category, front page, or any article type. In addition, module authors can use the RSS theme to syndicate out content by adjusting the output to be valid RSS.

Work is progressing very nicely towards the 1.0.0 release. We obviously have more work to do, and your input is needed to ensure that we achieve the goals that we set out long ago. Please, take some time to become involved in the process by submitting both feature requests and bug reports in our bug tracker. Don't assume that a bug has already been found, or a feature has been thought of by someone else. The worse that can happen is the bug is signed off as a duplicate.

We will be focusing on stability and performance over the next few beta releases. We have isolated a few places that we can make dramatic changes to the memory usage within the modules. We are also making efforts to decrease the load time and memory usage of the core as well. I would like to thank everyone that has helped us get to this point. Stay tuned, it only gets more fun from here on out.
