This spring, development of X-jWS will restart. This time, focus will be on proper planning and better project management. Already now the team is working on setting up development environments, repository server(s), and base planning of the project. There might be positions open for developers at a later time, so keep your eyes open. More updates will follow.
We are currently working on a new prototype (v0.2.0) which will most likely be the foundation of X-jWS v1.0.0. As soon as we finish the outlines of the prototype, we will post the files here. A few of the improvements in v0.2.0 over v0.1.0 includes huge improvements to the threading system, improved performance, and a better class structure. And still even more to come.
Keep checking back to get the latest news about this project. If you have any questions or suggestions, please direct them towards the forum. Feedback based on the first prototype will be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that the 0.1.0 prototype has severe bugs in the threading system, and has already been greatly improved.
I hereby declare the X-jWS Sourceforge project for opened! The excellent tools provided by Sourceforge will hopefully boost X-jWS' development significantly, and make it the one of the best open source multithreaded java webservers ever.
The next few months will be spent on planning, prototyping and coordination of the project, and possibly recruitment of additional developers.
