As a starting point you could see how the various ext/* have
been implemented; ext/stc shows a relatively straightforward
XS wrapper; ext/calendar shows a thing I call XS++ which is a
way to write XS with a C++-ish syntax.
I think that other persons in wxperl-users (I took the liberty to CC
your mail there) will be able to provide you with some more starting
