VB users would rate things like Active Reports and VPE (Virtual Print =
Engine). Both very capable systems and better than Crystal for many =
uses, but obviously depends on your ability to use ActiveX controls in =
your project. =20

Subject: [wxperl-users] wxPerl and Printing
This is a fairly broad topic, but I am interested to hear what
experiences other users have had with printing from wxPerl applications,
as well as PDF generation.
I find the whole printing architecture cumbersome and difficult to use.
I know that there are the wxHTML classes to use, but I find these quite
restrictive without the ability to install custom tag handlers to
enhance or override existing handlers.
I have researched external routines/applications like Crystal, FOP,
RenderX, etc, ad nauseum but nothing suffices due to functionality or
I have some very basic print modules that I have battled to setup but
find adding new functionality a real test.
Has anyone else been down this path? I would be interested to hear where
you ended up.
