I posted before about my need to write a drawing program
(Subject: Zooming a canvas) but I was a bit to optimistic
about using the Printing.pm example. After wading through
the docs and wxwindows.org for 2 days I'm kinda lost.
I need to be able to place different objects (square, elips, lines..)
on a "canvas" to create a schematic floorplan.
When I use the drawing methods like in Printing.pm (or splitter.pl)
I see no possibility to edit such objects. For example I need to
be able to drag an item to another spot, resize it, remove it etc,
but it looks like the drawings created with OnDraw are "embeded"
in the canvas.
In the past I have build such a thing in MacroMedia Flash but I=20
have to rebuild it. (Flash is not an option anymore so a standalone=20
Flash movie is out of the question.)
In Flash I was able to layer different objects.=20
Is such a thing at all possible in wxPerl ??(or wxWindows for that=20
I've seen a Tk example that shows the basic functions I need but I
really don't like/know Tk at all.=20
(Tk widgets demo =3D> Canvases =3D> The canvas item types, just type
"widget" at the command prompt if you got Tk installed)
Am I asking the impossible of wxPerl right now?
Please show me the right direction 'cause I'd hate to start using Tk.
