Greetings. The plan is to upload a Word document to a server via the
browser upload mechanism, then to invoke wvWare from PHP to parse the
uploaded file, and then to stuff the various paragraphs and parts of the
document (title, abstract, main text etc.) into the respective fields in
an SQL database via PHP again.
My question is: Has it been done before? If so, is there any info on
how exactly this could be accomplished?
My thinking now is that you'd create an appropriate config file to
create XML output through wvWare, then to parse the XML from PHP (using
expat) to extract the various sections, stuff those into an array and
then insert it all into the database (only the last step seems
straightforward to me). Where could I find some documentation on how to
create such a config file? Am I confused?
