The attached patch makes the shell script template compatible with installation and removal via the Linux Standard Base install_initd and remove_initd scripts. Among other things this should increase compatibility with SUSE linux (http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/11256.html)

Rob,
I don't use SUSE personally. I did find the following page describing init scripts on SUSE: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/15380.html

I have added the INFO block as you requested. But the above script also mentions several calls to rc_status, rc_exit etc. Are these needed for SUSE as well?
