WordGrinder 0.4

Rumours of WordGrinder's death have been greatly exaggerated: WordGrinder 0.4 has just been released. Featuring:

  • a new, much smaller file format
  • a proper Windows port (you don't have to run it in a console any more!)
  • OpenDocument import/export for interoperability with LibreOffice
  • a number of bug fixes

WordGrinder is a minimalist character-cell word processor that lives in a terminal (on Unix platforms), modelled after the old word processors like InterWord, WordStar and Word for DOS. It has minimal but sufficient formatting, supports Unicode, a fast but intuitive user interface, and just enough features to be useful without being distracting.
