Those fears are unfounded for three reasons. First, WiX v2 is stable so we are not expecting another build of that version unless a showstopper bug shows up. Second, weekly drops show up at the Weekly Releases (http://wix.sourceforge.net/releases) release point regularly. Finally, pushing to the SourceForge release point (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=105970) is a manual process for us and ends up a lower priority. In any case, development is still very much active and the wix-users mailing list (http://wix.sourceforge.net/mailinglists.html#wix-users) is still the best place to get your questions answered.

WiX v2.0.3719.0 - Release of the Primes

This is the first release of the WiX toolset
built by NAnt. There are many bug fixes and
support for MSI 4.0 was added. Most
importantly, Votive should be installing
again.

This release also begins our glide path down
to a production quality release for the WiX
toolset. Please, upgrade to this version of
the toolset and help bang out the last few
bugs.

Votive v2.0.2613.0 - Introducing Votive.

Votive is a Visual Studio 2003 extension. It allows you to create "WiX projects" that act like any other project in a VS solution. The WiX toolset is integrated in this install, so all you should need is this MSI an no other downloads from Source Forge. Unless, of course, you want to integrate the toolset into a build lab. In that case, I recommend just downloading the binaries .zip file.

Votive is mostly stable (shouldn't crash VS2003) but still lacks many features. Feel free to play with it, but don't be surprised if it doesn't behave the way you like. File bugs or Feature Requests on votive, and we'll see where it leads.

WiX v2.0.2520.0 - Jolt Me, Baby!

This release fixes many bugs, cleans up the compiler code significantly, and vastly improves the WiX.chm documentation. All of this in anticipation of evaluation by the "Jolt Committee" since the WiX toolset was announced as a Jolt Award Finalist. Woohoo!

Note: There is a schema change in this release, changing the "RadioGroup" element to "RadioButtonGroup" and allowing Registry key elements to be nested under one another.

WiX v2.0.2415.0 - Pre-Holiday Release includes Schema Change

This release contains one schema change (RadioButton and ListItem, see mailing list for more information) plus several small bugs and documenation fixes in this release. Please, pick up this release to notice the deprecated elements. We're driving for a stable release candidate early next year.

As always, send any questions or initial bug reports to the wix-users mailing list.

WiX v2.0.2419.0 - Pre-Holiday Fixed Toolset

This release of the toolset fixes a bug in v2.0.2415.0 that prevented ListItem elements from working properly. There is also some more cleanup on the Search elements in the compiler, but that is mostly inconsequential.

To do so, simply use one of the extension elements (like User or WebSite) in your source file and include sca.wixlib and/or wixca.wixlib on your link line. The WiX toolset should incorporate all of the CustomActions necessary to get the extended features working.
