When comparing directories, it would be very useful to be able to detect when two files are differing only by a difference in the case of their filename.

Currently, if I have two files a.java and A.java, containing the same text, they are marked as identical by WinMerge, although the file name difference is a problem with case-sensitive technologies (Java/JSP in my case).

It would be nice if the files are compared AND there would a status "name differ in case". So just string these two results together, like
"case-differing and identical", "case-differing and not identical", etc.

As I already mentioned in forum, I agree with this request. I see lots of situations where this is useful.

It could be a modified text as suggested below, and would work with current View-menu items to select visible items. I'd still see that filename case difference as its own attribute.
