Sure would be nice if you could "Copy a difference to the clipboard".
In a difference window, a right click on a highlighted difference could have an option in the popup window for Copy diff to clipboard. This would copy the single selected difference from the window selected to the clipboard.

This would make discussing differences between files much easier.

I would strongly appreciate such a functionality. A
different way of solution would be a function for
generating a text file, which contains all differences.

    Thanks
    Harald

Currently a file called diff.txt with all the differences, is written
    to the users $temp directory.

You mean it would save you haveing to highlight the area?
Instead just click a button? Any thing else?

I'm not sure what really is wanted here. Current CVS version
can create patch files. I could implement feature to copy
selected diff as a patch to clipboard. I quess I should use
unified diff format and few lines of context.

I don't know what is wanted here either.

My reaction is the same as japeters below -- can't the user
simply select the area of interest and press ctrl-c to get
    it on the clipboard ?

I recommend closing this as Refused; I don't think we need
to make a button to shortcut that process (select area &
    press ctrl-c).
