I built myself a homemade IR-receiver using the TSOP 1738, WinLirc 0.6.5 and
the Sony Playstation 2 remote control (configuration file from the WinLirc
download area) and uICE 2.34.
Everything works fine, but still I am annoyed by a something:
I would like to use the directional pads to control mouse movements.
If I press the button the cursors will only move a few pixels. So although I
keep it pressed, the command will only be executed once or maybe twice.
I have to wait a few seconds (release the button) before WinLirc will accept
any other input.
Is there a way to configure the delay or make WinLirc accept repeats from
the same button?
I read through the mailing list but could only find posts regarding the
opposite problem about to many repeats.
Thanls for your help.

First, try recording your own config file, rather than just
downloading one; you may have better luck.
It's possible that the remote doesn't send repeated keypresses when
you hold the button down, in which case WinLIRC has no way of knowing
that you're holding it down. It's also possible that WinLIRC _is_
seeing the repeated keypresses, but uICE is ignoring them. Do you see
the green light the whole time you're holding it down? Or, another
way to check is to open up a telnet window and connect to 127.0.0.1
port 8765. Then hold a button on your remote. If lines keep
appearing on the screen, then WinLIRC is repeating the signals.
If that's the case, you'll have to talk to the uICE guys.
If you don't see repeated signals, then that means your remote doesn't
send them (or your config file is bad, somehow), in which case your
only hope would be to make or get a better config file, or (more
likely) just get a new remote.
