Using the amplified transmitter circuit on windows XP -
both SKY and Mitsubishi VCR rather unresponsive to
infrared at 880nm and 940nm although work sometimes if
it is right up to the receiver. (50mA LED current) I
checked the transmit codes in the config files with a
'scope and IR receiver and they appear to be correct.

Then I checked the RS232 output (DTR pin) and found the
carrier frequency was only 16.6kHz. It doesn't change
when frequency in the config file is changed.

Has anyone tested the RS232 output and measured the
correct frequency. If so has a bug crept in since then?
Other users seem to have to put the LED right up to the
receiver also. The poor reception I am getting is
consistent with the carrier frequency being outside the
passband of the receiver filter.
