Moving from Subversion to Mercurial

Now that SF.net offers Mercurial as a distributed VCS, I've decided to move over in order to make it easier for "outsiders" to submit patches. Of course it also allows for forks, but if you are willing to contribute anyway I encourage you to contact the team first. On possible fork could be the maintenance of a Windows 9x/Me version which we will otherwise drop completely (NB: the Windows 9x/Me version is feature complete for the most part, perhaps saving/loading could be back-ported to a fork ...).... read more

neglox joined the project

Juan (aka neglox) has offered his help and contributions and has joined the project. We will first find a mode of working together either via patches or a separate branch (off the current trunk) and then extend SVN access as we go.

Thanks for joining! And all you users, please welcome him!

Continuing via subversion

As you may have noticed, the CVS repository was imported into SF.net's Subversion facility and that's where development will now continue.

Working on migration to subversion

Searching Beta-Testers!

We are in search for beta-testers for the upcoming beta-programme. I'd like to perform a public beta-test this time to find small issues before a final release of the new version.

Drop me a mail or contact me elsewhere (e.g. through the blog article about beta testing).

Thanks,

Oliver

Re-release of 1.1.2 installer and archives

Hi again,

one of the most famous German computer magazines is going to feature WDS in one of its coming issues - reason enough to include German into the installer. Furthermore the installer is now final (languages will be added as possible, however).

The ZIP archives are being re-released in the belief that 7-Zip's ZIP files (as previously provided for download) may not be 100% downward compatible. We got such complaints and therefore I used another compressor which I think is more compatible. Try it if you had problems.... read more

WinDirStat 1.2.x development started

Since I took over the project the last days have been the most active by far.
I have edited all the source files, removed some stuff (setup) and replaced linkcounter. The project is converted to VS 2005 and the help projects have been merged into one project (for easier maintenance).

After the cosmetics (coding-style and more) I am now going to comment the code so that I can resume adding features.... read more

assarbad is now WinDirStat admin.

From today, I'm merly his consultant.

Thank you, Oliver, for undertaking that burden.

I apologize for unacceptable long response times in the last year. And once again I'd like to thank you all who gave feedback.

Using KDirStat (http://kdirstat.sourceforge.net/) as a specification, I wrote its MS Windows twin. I hope, it gives you pleasure and is useful.... read more
