#3 Yaw remains 0 for Remote and Nunchuk
Using a Wii Remote Plus that I obtained 11/28/2012 in the new Wii U box packaging, the sample application appears to not be able to interpret Yaw for either the Wii Remote or the Nunchuk. Yaw Rate remains correctly calculated.
The IR functionality in the sample application also appears zeroed out.
