As pentaho includes Mondrian, i tried to use Rex with it.
I got stuk at entering a new URL. Does any one know what to enter there. The default as specified for mondrian does not seem to work.

Pentaho doesn't currently support browser based authentication. A workaround to get access using Rex would be to append the user id and password to the URL. In the default demo, one URL that you could use would be: http://localhost:8080/pentaho/Xmla?userid=joe&password=password

I can use my Pentaho 8.3 CE (Xmla servlet) from Excel Olap datasource well.
I try to connect from REX but no sucess:
"http://localhost:8080/pentaho/Xmla?userid=Admin&password=password"
