I see in my logs that there are a lot of in-the-same-second retrievals of the same issue, and I think I saw it mentioned on the list recently.  I hope a few things I just noticed helps point to a fix.

I only see the double-retrievals if I click an issue that I haven't viewed recently.  I haven't customized much about the index page, so I think I'm seeing the default behavior. In Firefox, none of the Title links are underlined until I've visited them once. (In IE, they're all underlined, and visited link change color.) I only see the underlines (Firefox) if I mouseover a Title.  No issues with IE doing double-retrievals that I've noticed.

Anyway, if I mouseover a link and the underline appears, no double-retrieval. If no underline appears, double-retrieval.  In the logs below,  2052, 2053, and 2054 have been recently visited, but 2051 has not. - - [08/Jan/2005 12:50:46] "GET /feedback/issue2052 HTTP/1.1" 200 - - - [08/Jan/2005 12:50:58] "GET /feedback/issue2053 HTTP/1.1" 200 - - - [08/Jan/2005 12:51:08] "GET /feedback/issue2054 HTTP/1.1" 200 -

# next group is first retrieval of 2051 - two GETs - - [08/Jan/2005 12:51:23] "GET /feedback/issue2051 HTTP/1.1" 200 - - - [08/Jan/2005 12:51:24] "GET /feedback/issue2051 HTTP/1.1" 200 -

# next line is subsequent retrieval of 2051 - one GET - - [08/Jan/2005 12:52:43] "GET /feedback/issue2051 HTTP/1.1" 200 -

I hope this is of some help. It's not a great big deal: our Roundup server is pretty lightly loaded, but on a busy machine, saving the extra GET might be a good idea.
