WebCalendar 1.2.b1 demo online

I have put a demo back online at SourceForge using version 1.2.b1:

http://webcalendar.sourceforge.net/demo/

I've limited the functionality to keep people from abusing it. (no remote calendars, no categories, etc.) since SF shut down my entire account last time a malicious user posted unacceptable content on the demo.

Version 1.0.3 of WebCalendar has been release. Version 1.0.3 contains mostly minor bugfixes to version 1.0.2. Changes include fixing saving preferences for public users, fixes for vCal export, DB2 database support was added and a new Greek translation was added.

There are no database changes, so this release can be unpacked/unzipped over a 1.0.2 release, but be sure to copy over includes/site_extras.php if you have modified it.... read more

WebCalendar 1.1 development update

WebCalendar 1.1 development is progressing at a good pace. While there is no official public release, the application can be downloaded from CVS or from the nightly CVS snapshot found at:

http://www.k5n.us/webcalendar.php?topic=Download

Some of the most significant changes include:
- A new web-based installation wizard that will create or update your database tables. No need to use the MySQL command line or phpMyAdmin.
- Greatly improved RFC2445 (iCal) support that supports much more advanced recurrance rules, inclusions and exceptions
- A new user access permission system that allows finer control of access to system functions and user calendars
- Support for read & write access from iCal clients that connect to WebCalendar. This allows creating events in applications like Sunbird or Apple iCal that will be stored in WebCalendar
- New support for FCKEditor which allows users to use a WYSIWYG editor for event descriptions... read more

2/3 WebCalendar install on Windows

In a very unofficial survey, it appears there are twice as many Windows users installing WebCalendar as UNIX/Linux. Check the Files area to compare the number of downloads of the latest .zip (Windows) vs tar.gz (UNIX/Linux). This is the first time a .zip has been available to download (v0.9.44).

WebCalendar breaks into SourceForge top 10

According to the latest SourceForge statistics, WebCalendar had reached number 8 in their list of most active projects for this week. As far as I know, this is the first time WebCalendar has reached the top ten.

Unfortunately, the stats page for WebCalendar does not seem to be getting updated.
