Well, it's probably better to install ssh through apt (fastest) or dselect (pretty colours) As root, simply #apt-get install ssh I don't tend to install stuff through webmin, though. If you meant SSL (secure web browsing), then follow the link that Steve Shelby posted. Why is a SSH question being sent to the Webmin list? ;-) Ask your OS vendor why they don't install SSH by default. But, I can say that often in the past it was not included for export or patent reasons. Both of those reasons are no longer wholly valid and so most vendors do include ssh in some form now. Maybe you're running an old OS version. If your OS supports some form of package manager (that is also supported by Webmin), you get that package and you install it using the Webmin:System:Software Packages module (which is pretty self explanatory and briefly documented in the Webmin Guide). If not, you go to http://www.openssh.org and download the tarball and install it from source. Installation of packages (other than issues of how the package manager interface in Webmin works) are not really on-topic for the Webmin list. I'd recommend getting yourself on one of the beginner lists for your OS version. All of the major Linux versions have newbie lists that are always very helpful, and not focused on any one component of the system. Chris Woods wrote: > Why isn't ssh a default package?
