I am in the process moving Webmin off it's origianl system to another system but am getting the following error: Failed to bind port 10000 : The socket name is not available on this system. at /sharedfs2/webmin-0.88/miniserv.pl line 268. I didn't have this problem on the first system....Both systems are the same except for the location of the Webmin software.....No sockets are turned off that we know of...... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated....... Don't be afraid of going slowly, be afraid of standing still." Chinese proverb Aletha D. Hey Guys, Hopefully you will be able to help me with this one. I have my Webmin finally running under redhat and apache but am running into the following problem. If i go to my file manager under webmin and try to edit a file i just get an empty edit box. If i attempt to create a new file, i click the "save" button, but nothing actually happens. The box doesnt disappear or anything. Other realted problems include: Nothing comes up on the telnet screen when i try to use the "telnet" module - just completely blank. My custom commands that i have created (one of which i just a pure shutnow now -r ) seem to work. The response i get when i attempt to run this command is: Output from /sbin/shutdown now -r .. No output generated Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated Many Thanx Dave |

Try netstat -an|grep :23 and see if it's listening - and which ip addresses are listening - change the module configuration. For that matter, see if sshd is running... netstat -an|grep :22 and use that ------ > My custom commands that i have created (one of which i just a pure shutnow > now -r ) seem to work. What happens is runlevel is changed to 6 (or possibly 0) and things progress from there. Craig |
