related to my previous posting, after doing some research i found, that the additional ports, miniserv is listening on are related to webmin clustering: after this: [root@XXX /etc <00:13:01> ]# netstat -a |grep 125 tcp 0 0 *:12560 *:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 *:12561 *:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 *:12562 *:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 *:12563 *:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 *:12564 *:* LISTEN tcp 0 0 *:12565 *:* LISTEN udp 0 0 *:12560 *:* i did that: [root@XXX /etc <00:13:35> ]# lsof -i tcp:12561 COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME miniserv. 5380 root 5u IPv4 23566319 TCP *:10031 (LISTEN) and found: [root@iss2 /etc <00:14:35> ]# ps ax|grep 538 5380 ? S 0:00 /usr/local/webmin/fastrpc.cgi and remembered, that i just changed the hostname of this servers on anothers server webmin - which had this server as a cluster member. there, this server is connected with "Make fast RPC calls?" set to yes, which explains the process "fastrpc.cgi" listening on the other ports. man, i was scared!! but, btw, the fast rpc won't work, because the firewall is blocking the additional ports - so maybe this should be mentioned somewhere?
