One difference between Usermin and Webmin is that Usermin expects all logins to be valid Unix users. So if you only have LDAP set up for PAM authentication, it won't work. You would also need nss_ldap set up as well, so that accounts in your LDAP database can login via SSH, FTP and Usermin. - Jamie On Fri, 2004-03-12 at 15:11, Karl Latiss wrote: > I have run webmin with ldap for quite some time now with no problem. > This is on a Redhat 7.3 system. > > I have just installed usermin on the same system and I cannot log in, > and I do not see anything in the syslog to tell me what the issue might > be ("Log blocked hosts, logins and authentication failures to syslog" is > turned on). > > I have selected PAM as the authentication method for usermin ("Use PAM > for authentication, if available" is selected). > > I have ensured the PAM configuration is the same for webmin as for > usermin. > > Any tips or suggestions as to where to look? |
