This can be caused by incorrect permissions on the directory where your zone file resides.

The transfer can be successful, but bind is not able to write to the zone file.

 

As Jamie suggests, please paste in the relevant log file information if you require any assistance with this.

 

Hint: cat /your/log/file |grep transfer

The zone transfer test is a great feature of the BIND module.  Is there any way to prompt the transfer once the test has been done.  I have a slave server that is not updating although it says that the test was successful.
