Would like to see an extension to the Disk and
Network Filesystems module to allow for the ability
to set file and directory permissions on mapped
(smbfs) drives.

The smbmount command supports the switches
fmask and dmask to set file and directory
permissionsrespectively.

mount -t smbfs -
o "username=unamehere,gid=501,password=pwher
e,uid=501,fmask=775,dmask=775" //sname/shrna
me /localdir2map2

The default permissions for files and directories
appears to be 755 (for both).

Obviously changes here need to be mirrored in
writing permenant entries into /etc/fstab (or
equivelent on non-Linux filesystems).

Hope this can be easily done.

Thanks and regards,

Nick

This feature is available in the latest version of Webmin,
assuming you have a recent smbmount version installed.
