How to configure monitoring alerts (email, SMS)?

    I'm trying to configure the System and Server Status module to send SMS and email alerts when services are down. I can get localhost mail delivery to work, but that's it.

    If I click on "scheduled monitoring", I see a field for SMTP server- so presumably I could put smtp.gmail.com here or something, but how do I enter credentials?

    There's also a field for "Send SMS"- I entered my Verizon phone number here, but not surprisingly, I haven't received any SMSes. Does this need to be configured elsewhere, or does it just not work?

    I'm using Webmin 1.670

    There the email can be configured. But I'm still trying to get it to work, as my external email requires SSL and this module doesn't seem to support this
