Installed webmin 1.65 and was given a link of https://{myservername}:10000 however when I attempt to go to this site, it stalls out after nearly 3 minutes of trying to load. What am I doing wrong? I am using OpenSSH to connect to my server remotely and attempting to simply build a home media server. If there is more information needed please let me know.

Is the port open? (check with nmap)

Have you opened that port in the firewall? (distro dependent)

Here is the output from nmap:

Discovered open port 10000/tcp on 127.0.1.1
Completed Connect Scan at 04:53, 0.01s elapsed (1000 total ports)
Nmap scan report for homeserver (127.0.1.1)
    Host is up (0.00018s latency).
    Not shown: 997 closed ports
    PORT STATE SERVICE
    22/tcp open ssh
    53/tcp open domain
    10000/tcp open snet-sensor-mgmt

    Read data files from: /usr/bin/../share/nmap
Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.06 seconds

I am running Ubuntu 13.04 and I thought Ubuntu didn't have the firewall active by default. I have not changed any settings. What am I missing? I am fairly new to Linux so it could be something very obvious.

If this is on your local network then you can use https://(server ip):10000
