Unable to intialize Postgresql

  • hescominsoon

I am running CentOS 3.4 which is a rebuild of RHEL3 U4.  I have installed postgresql 7.3.  When i try to use the intialize database button that webmin presents :PostgreSQL Database Server

The PostgreSQL host configuration file /var/lib/pgsql/data/pg_hba.conf was not found on your system, indicating that the database has not been initialized yet. Click the button below to setup PostgreSQL with the command if [ -r /etc/rc.d/init.d/rhdb ]; then /etc/rc.d/init.d/rhdb start; else /etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql start; fi.

    I get the following error:
    Failed to initialize database :

sh: line 1: /etc/rc.d/init.d/postgresql: No such file or directory
